Ceiling void and ductwork asbestos removal, commercial building

SES AsbestosCommercialCompleted

Asbestos-contaminated dust cleaned from the ceiling void, structural steel and ductwork of a commercial building, with the floor below sheeted and sealed so the tenant could keep trading.

Contaminated dust had settled across the ceiling void of a commercial building - on steel beams, timber joists, galvanised ductwork and cable trays. SES sheeted the floor below in black poly, sealed the stairwell and worked through the void section by section under negative pressure.

Every surface was HEPA vacuumed and wet wiped, the ductwork cleaned externally, and an independent assessor cleared each section before the next was opened. The tenant stayed in the building throughout.

Project scope:
  • Ceiling void decontamination of steel, timber and ductwork
  • Floor and stairwell sheeted and sealed as the enclosure
  • HEPA vacuuming and wet wiping of all surfaces
  • Staged by section with clearance between stages
  • Building stayed in use
