Plant room asbestos pipe lagging removal

SES AsbestosIndustrialCompleted

Friable pipe lagging removed from live plant room pipework inside a sheeted enclosure, with wet spray suppression, a decontamination unit and bag lock at the entry.

A plant room full of lagged steam and hot-water pipework needed the asbestos lagging removed without shutting the plant down for long. SES built a sheeted enclosure around the affected runs, ran it under negative pressure and removed the lagging under wet spray.

The decontamination unit, bag lock and fire station sat just outside the enclosure, and the site laptop ran the control plan and air results on the spot.

Project scope:
  • Class A pipe lagging removal in a live plant room
  • Sheeted enclosure around pipework and plant
  • Wet spray suppression and HEPA extraction
  • Decontamination unit, bag lock and fire station at the entry
  • Air monitoring and independent clearance
