Asbestos removed from the equipment aisles of a live telecommunications exchange - working from scaffold between racks that could not be switched off.
A live exchange needed asbestos removed from above and between its equipment racks. Nothing could be powered down, so SES worked from narrow scaffold in the aisles, under local containment, with the racks protected throughout.
The job ran in short controlled sections with clearance between each, and the exchange stayed in service for the whole programme.
Project scope:
- Removal in a live telecommunications exchange
- Scaffold access between live equipment racks
- Local containment and equipment protection
- Sectional working with clearance between stages
- No downtime for the network
